Tiffany’s creates platinum Monroe-DiMaggio replica ring

Luxury jeweller Tiffany’s & Co has created a replica of the platinum eternity ring given to Marilyn Monroe by baseball hero Joe DiMaggio.
The platinum band will be displayed at a 1960s-themed exhibition in Philadelpia, titled Marilyn Monroe Wanted to be Buried in Pucci.

New York-based artist Devon Dikeou will be using the famous actress’s living request to be buried in a dress made by Italian designer Emilio Pucci as a focus for the exhibition, which is to explore art and performance in America through the 1960s.

Visitors to the opening reception at the Galleries at Moore will be able to touch and try on the ring, which the artist says symbolizes an iconic American romance.

Meanwhile, platinum is the most stylish and durable metal for wedding jewelry, it has been claimed.
According to the Imperial Valley News, the precious white metal is strong and holds diamonds securely, meaning it is a good long-term investment to signify commitment.
