Platinum jewellery combines with flowers to help Central Park

A new event built around platinum jewellery is helping raise money to maintain parts of New York’s Central Park and light up boutiques on one of the city’s most exclusive streets.

The Madison Avenue Business Improvement District is currently holding its first Platinum Jewels in Bloom event, which has seen 32 Madison Avenue jewellery boutiques decorate their window displays with platinum jewellery and floral arrangements.

Having begun on Thursday (April 8th), the event will run until April 17th and , in honour of the Central Park Conservancy’s 30th anniversary, and is seeing a portion of sales going towards the maintenance of 21 playgrounds around the world-famous park.

When announcing the launch of the event, the Central Park Conservancy said: “The pairing of lush floral arrangements with breathtaking jewellery has turned Madison Avenue into a brilliant spring boulevard.

“But these blooms will only last for ten days, so be sure to visit and shop participating boutiques today.”

Partners in the event include Platinum Guild International, Chopard, Asprey and Cartier
